haunting and beautiful and not particularly yodel-y. ( the first song i heard by The Cranberries was Zombie, and it made quite an impression. )

Barenaked Ladies - Falling For The First Time
with a title like that, you'd exepect something emo and songfic-worthy. not from the Barenaked Ladies, though!

There was quite some excitement when they banned songfics last year, but people are still posting as usual, as far as I can tell. Rules? What rules? Don't they call them guidelines? ^^ Expand your horizons! Write angst to happy clappy songs!

My announcement-post on the matter (http://xsmoonshine.livejournal.com/157181.html). They also banned second person POV around that time, but I don't remember when.

I've had two fics booted off ffnet with no lasting harm - three, actually, but the first was a long time ago and probably doesn't count against me any more.

Again, I must have missed that one since my Tactics 2nd-person POV ("one for sorrow, two for joy") is still there, AFAIK.
Seems rather arbitrary, though. (Off with her fic!)
