because this journal used to be a fandom-centric one, once. a handful of old memes, if anyone's interested. stolen from
xsmoonshine.
1) DVD commentary meme: Point at a story, and I will babble about it.
2) Write me anything from a sentence to a drabble (or more if you desire), any fandom you want and think I know. Identify fandom and characters if it's not clear from what you wrote. I will respond in some fashion -- fic, art, bad poetry, a mini FST, etc.
3) Make up a title for a fic I've never written and I'll give you a blurb, excerpt, illustration or whatever else strikes my fancy.

Date: 2009-02-20 03:06 pm (UTC)but still:
The gods do not have to believe in eternity any more than mortals do in gravity. Loki has to learn the shape of its absence: Jormungandr sheds skin after skin, Fenrir's limbs lose their puppyish lack of definition. But there are diversions enough here, and Midgard's apples too are sweet, and there isn't that much, he thinks, that relies on the promise of ‘forever’.
Memory becomes a substitute even for regret. He could not lead her out of the underworld, all those Midgard-months ago. All that means is that he can look back, now; there is nothing left to lose.

as resurrected!mummies? (where are Heimdall and Freyr, though?)no subject
Date: 2009-02-25 02:15 pm (UTC)i did not have that in mind at all, but now that you mention it...heimdall is a british official working in egypt, and nominally one of odin's allies; freyr is the annoying french ambassador he must entertain.no subject
Date: 2009-02-15 09:11 am (UTC)Hee, this is the longest story I've seen you write.
2) Nyanko would protest that he wasn't a cat with nine lives, or even a real cat at all, for that matter, but really, what other option was there?
3) All the white horses

Date: 2009-02-17 04:23 pm (UTC)The patience in Natsume's voice had taken on a talking-to-frightened-animals flavour. Nyanko's fur bristled. "You wouldn't know," he replied, raising his head haughtily (it helped not to look down) and digging his claws a little deeper into the branch.
"Don't cats always land on their feet, anyway? Come on, Nyanko. I promise I'll catch you. Besides, you're meant to have nine lives--"
Nyanko would later maintain that he had hurled himself out of the tree and at Natsume for the express reason of shutting him up, and it was a very graceful landing, thank you very much, and he had barely let his claws out at all.
"Ow," Natsume replied. And, a bit later, "You need to lose weight."
But he let Nyanko stay half-curled in his arms all the way back home, and since Nyanko wasn't even a real cat, there was nothing demeaning or pet-like about it at all. Obviously not.

and yes, i know cats don't always land on their feet, but.
