(wonder if there's a specific japanese writing style associated with things occult, like the supernatural is associated with the Irish/Eastern European traditions?)
I enjoyed both volumes (land of crack and sakura indeed! especially the chibi side-stories) immensely, thank you again ^_^
And I would so buy a sukekiyo plushie, if there were indeed such an entity XD
( maybe a flatter style that's reminiscent of the earlier forms of writing? like on the fuda in yami no matsuei, iirc. or something. )
no problem. :D in the original japanese volumes ( as well as the chinese translations ) the dialogue in the chibi side-stories is bilingual, with the engrish bits contributing to the absurdity. minagawa's last line in the summer one, for example, is the far more cryptic: "it is how to have a mind."
given that there's a punyan plushie, i'm surprised at the lack of a sukekiyo one. they do have a terrifying sukekiyo oven mitt, though: http://www.animate.co.jp/animate/goods2.asp?wid=000000000030&pg=5

the third ( and last, alas ) volume is my favourite, though. sukekiyo gets a little more page-time, too. ^_^

I read the first chapter (the interview)- loved the set-up, the crack, and very inspired of the scanlators to have Minagawa's dialogue in Celtic font.
Shall savour the rest at leisure ^_^
