and in case it wasn't obvious enough, i doubt i'll be doing [livejournal.com profile] 31_days for this month, after all - if nothing else, too many of the prompts feel the same.

for these questions, see also: this post.

day 05: a song that reminds you of someone

taking the prompt literally:
Tenipuri - Tonde! Mawatte! Mata raishuu ~Ryoma ga ippai~

this is really a drama-track cover of a tenipuri song... i think. anyway, it reminds me of [livejournal.com profile] idealise, [livejournal.com profile] erushi and [livejournal.com profile] kuuumo, because of how we used to sing it in secondary school, ahahaha. i think we still do the "nyan nyan nyan nyan nyan" bit on rare occasions.

if the prompt meant something more along the lines of "a song which you associate with someone, due to intrinsic properties of the song rather than circumstances surrounding it"... i've got nothing. i don't really draw those parallels, with songs.

day 06: a song that reminds you of somewhere
Kent - Columbus

the song mentions stockholm and places in stockholm. the video is full of stockholm (just watching it now makes me nostalgic). on my first trip to sweden, at my first kent concert, they played this song; later in the trip, i went to stockholm, walked its streets - sometimes even singing this song to myself. the song has kind of the right mood for when i was there, though i was perhaps a few months too early: stockholm caught in early winter, not yet covered in snow, with night coming early but yule lights keeping darkness at bay.

day 07: a song that reminds you of a certain event

besides those mentioned in the above-linked post, i'm finding it hard to think of any. i mean, it's not like my life has a soundtrack, and it's not even as if i think in terms of discrete events.

so i guess i'll just go with this, mainly because it's fairly recent:

Sigur Rós - Hoppípolla

new year's eve 2009/2010, at the countdown in london. we were cold and hungry, but somewhere in the midst of the long wait for midnight, they played this song.
