ambientlight: (musik: all we need)
almost two years later, here's the follow-up to this post.

my internet connection is pretty bad when it comes to uploading files, so i may upload these when i get back to the UK. for now, have a few YouTube links instead.

Box 1991-2008
1991-2002: Kent - B-Sidor

Kent
1995, with bonus tracks from 1991 onwards

Bonus material:
12. Döda dagar [1994]
13. Håll i mig (Jones och giftet) [1991]
14. Ögon (Jones och giftet) [1991]
15. Klocka (Havsänglar) [1993]
pretty representative of their early work - catchy and energetic, lots of guitars. the distortion-y bit in the chorus is interesting; it doesn't exist on the mp3 i had of this track prior to getting the boxset.

16. Cirkel (Havsänglar) [1993]
this is one of my favourite Havsänglar tracks. unlike much of their early work, it's quite laidback. i love the chorus.

because i was a very dedicated Kent fan back in the day, i already had all of these tracks prior to buying the boxset. still, it's good to have the official versions.

other bonus tracks available for upload upon request!

Verkligen
1996

Bonus material: [the booklet notes that these were written in the Verkligen era, but for Isola]
11. Saker man ser (demo)
BE STILL MY HEART. even given that most demos are stripped-down compared to the album version, this feels pretty different - tentative, gentler. i think i prefer how the accompanying "det är bara saker man vet" line is sung here. the album version is still more awesome, though. guitars!!

lyrics are generally the same - only difference is 'luftar' instead of 'doftar' in the first bit.

12. Alpha (demo)
13. Din skugga (demo)
this is perhaps my favourite 'new' track from this post. it's a demo of an Isola b-side; it is also, to me, better than the eventual b-side version. there's a beauty and maturity to this, i think, and more depth than the eventual track ends up having. or maybe i am biased because of the strings and more epic feel - the urgency, the forward movement. anyway. listen to this!

lyric differences: only "ge mig din kyla nu/ge mig din svala hud" instead of "jag behöver din kyla nu/behöver din svala hud"

Isola
1997

Bonus material:
12. OWC (live, 2 Meter Sessions, Holland)
13. Celsius (live, 2 Meter Sessions, Holland)

(Also, Livräddaren here is apparently the demo version.)

Hagnesta Hill
1999

Bonus material:

14. Inhale/Exhale (demo)
probably the most exciting thing in this post! not their best song, which is probably why it never got past demo stage, but still! an as-yet-unheard Kent song! it took me forever to figure out, but yes, he is indeed singing in English.

the accompanying booklet does not have the lyrics, so i assume there are no official lyrics out there. the people on the official forums try to figure them out in this thread (sadly, Jocke does not step in to help), and i think this site has the partial result of their efforts.

B-sidor 95-00 1 & 2 omitted due to lack of bonus material.
ambientlight: (like warm tea on a cold morning)
i am trying to come up with a list of Things I Must Do in my final year of youthful foolish freedom in the UK (and Europe).

here's what i've got so far:
- build a snowman for real, not just snow corpses and snow rabbits and the like.
- drink alcohol on a punt, damn it. too much sober punting has gone on.
- watch Les Mis, for crying out loud.

any other ideas?
