back!

hello! since my last post i have been drinking much less than i could (good), eating fairly tasty and cheap food (also good) and occasionally attempting, gingerly, to make more-than-acquaintances (good in theory, we'll see if it works out).

i have also joined the Assassins guild. in theory.

[Poll #1066344]

and how have you all been?

Welcome back! :D it sounds like you're having a great new experience. What's fairly cheap supposed to translate to?

I haven't got much to say about how things are over here, that's best left over at my own journal >_>

how cheap is cheap? london food costs are simply mad. all the more so for me because i'm in west end (ie. plays!), and west end and west central are the two most expensive places about, apparently.

Good to have you back on LJ!

The Guild sounds interesting - go for the kill!
it's a good idea for freshmen dying to meet new people

it's by item - main courses at £1+, side dishes like vegetables, soup and dessert are around 50p each, so you can get a good meal for under £3 easily, or if you are stingy like me you can just get a main course and maybe one side for about £2. of course, this is only for school food, not other eateries. there's a grand total of one japanese restaurant here and the dishes are like £6 for agedash tofu. -_-;;

speaking of which! dir en grey is coming to oxford. should i buy a ticket to see them? it's £16...

thanks! i can download anime much faster now, too fairly cheap = S$6 or so for lunch or dinner. not cheap by singaporean standards, obviously.

fair enough. >_. but i hope things are fine, for a given value of fine.

thanks!

...and now i am dead from the puns, sorry.

:D School life there sounds cool! Wow good food under 3 pounds in your school...when we went to the UK lit trip, I remember everyone cringing at the price ^___^;;

Heh I have no idea about the Assassins Guild thingum. It should be fun anyhow :D Post pictures soon! And take care~

school itself hasn't properly started yet -- it's now the end of orientation week -- but i'm quite amazed at how much everyone else drinks. @_@ and haha yeah, stuff here is still quite ex, especially since it's over a long term.

i'm not posting photos on this lj, alas, although i may make photoposts in a separate life-in-school journal. ^_^;;

where is said life-in-school journal?

also re: assassins guild, you should do it if they pay you.

[identity profile] idealise.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
bwaha, you're only six hours behind me! d'you have a microphone?
btw, does uk customs allow sending of food? (japan's doesn't allow fresh food, so my dreams of durian/mango/pomelo are dashed.)

[identity profile] feeshbowl.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
hey, I hope english people are friendly. =) Assassins is fun, we played something similar in my dorm last year. there was a study abroad fair the other day and Oxford had a booth and I was really tempted, but. alas.

[identity profile] ambientlight.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
i have no microphone! ;_;

food is allowed! *_* but yeah, perishables like fruits can't be sent. can't you get someone in singapore to fedex durians and the like, though?

[identity profile] ambientlight.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
they are, quite. or at least, they do not dao you and they generally try to talk to you at mealtimes, even if you are not very responsive. and by 'you', i mean me. >_>;; there's a dearth of international students in my college, though.

last year they had a game that lasted three weeks! three weeks! how does anyone keep playing for so long? but i suppose i'll give it a shot -- the first game this term is a group one, which might help.

aw. are you going anywhere to study abroad, then?

Psst, where would life-in-school journal be, if I may ask? /busybody
